LPG cylinders
Safety Guidelines :
- LPG must not be stored up in a basement
- The LPG cylinders must be placed in a standing position
- The ground of the storage must be flat
- Precautionary measures must be taken in order to prevent disasters or vandalisms
- The storage room must be placed in a safe distance from the borderline of the property, from every other building or any steady flammable sources
- Smoking and the use of fire are not allowed
- The housing must be labeled for LPG
- Proper fresh air circulation
- To be built from fireproof materials
- To keep a distance of 3 meters away from water
LPG tanks safety
Instructions for the safe use of LPG tanks as they are defined by the Services of the Department of Labor inspection:
- The tanks must be installed in an open and well ventilated space by keeping the separation distances that are defined.
- Grass, trees and any other flammable material must be removed from the area that LPG tanks are installed.
- he place of the storage of the tanks must be built of metal or iron fencing
- They are not nearby entrances and do not block them
- The LPG tanks must be checked every 5 years.
Instructions in case of LPG leak
- CLOSE ALL THE FAUCETS
- PUT OUT ALL THE FIRES
- IF THE LEAK IS IN AN INTERNAL PLACE, OPEN THE DOORS AND THE WINDOWS FOR THE PROPER VENTILATION OF THE ROOM
- DO NOT TRY TO TURN ON OR OFF THE ELECTRIC DEVICES.THE SPARKLE MIGHT CAUSE IGNITION
Instructions in case of fire
- CLOSE ALL THE FAUCETS
- PUT OUT ALL THE FIRES
- CALL THE FIRE BRIGADE
- SPRAY OVER THE LIQUID TANK OR GAS CYLINDER WITH COLD WATER
