LPG (Liquefied petroleum gas) is a mixture of hydrocarbons, propane (C3H8) and butane (C4H10).

LPG comes from two kind of sources: The process of the natural gas and the dissolution of the crude.

Characteristics :

  • It is produced during the dissolution of the crude but it can also be naturally extracted from liquid gas veins

  • The percentage of the mixture changes according to the weather conditions

  • It is heavier than air

  • It is vaporized under normal temperatures and pressures

  • It can be stored in liquid form under pressure

  • It is colorless and odorless

  • It is flammable when mixed with air
